The space in between is where the magic happens
If like me this year has already been go, go, go for you, this is your reminder to slow down and take some time to do nothing.
Have you ever noticed that you get your best ideas after sleep, or doing something unrelated to what you ‘needed’ to be doing? Perhaps you remember something important after chilling out. Or how about a luscious savasana (corpse pose) at the end of a yoga class – the most important part of the class as it’s where you allow your body to absorb all the juicy goodness you’ve just given it.
The spaces of seeming nothingness in our lives are so important as they allow our minds and bodies to absorb, assimilate and do what they need to. We live in a world where being busy is seen to be the only way to be productive, but we can actually achieve more by doing less.
So, my challenge to you for the next week is to see what can you cut out of your hectic schedule to allow yourself to just be? Go on, give it a try.
Enjoy the space.
